Barcelona sporting director Robert Fernandez says that the club are indeed in negotiations to sign Philippe Coutinho and also made it clear that they are also talking with Borussia Dortmund over Ousmane Dembele.
"We are negotiating and that is the truth. With all respect to both clubs, logically in a negotiation you need time to reach agreements for them and for us.
"We still have days ahead and we would like to go forward with this. It is true and I recognise this, that they are two players we feel like bringing here."

It’s an encouraging sign to hear Fernandez come out with these remarks. But perhaps the more positive sign is that Coutinho and Dembele still aren’t playing for each of their respective sides.
However, there still seems a fair way to go with both deals, and with the close of the transfer window looming, Barca fans will not rest easy until the players are signed, sealed and delivered.
