Rumors: Barcelona turn to Seri and Di Maria plus Coutinho latest

Serie & Di Maria are Barca’s Plan B

We start today with talk of Barcelona moving on from trying to sign Philippe Coutinho and Ousmane Dembele and instead going for a Plan B.

According to Sport, that means they will instead try to sign Jean Michael Seri from Nice and Angel Di Maria from Paris Saint-Germain.

While Seri is a completely different player to Coutinho, he would be a welcome addition to the midfield and a snip at just €35m, but Di Maria may be a harder deal to complete.

Seri signing imminent

Over at Mundo Deportivo, the talk is that Barcelona are closing in on Seri and that a deal could be imminent.

Although the club had discarded a move for the midfielder earlier in the summer, he is very much back on the agenda, with Barca having stepped up negotiations.

MD also report that while Barcelona are hopeful of landing Seri, they will also still try for Ousmane Dembele.

Barca refusing to give up on Coutinho

However, Mundo Deportivo are also reporting that Barcelona will keep trying to sign Coutinho, right up until the final day of the transfer window.

Barca seem to be optimistic they can still land Coutinho, largely based on their success in landing Luis Suarez from the Reds.
