Dortmund confirm Dembele to Barcelona ‘is on the way...but not finalized yet’

Ousmane Dembele’s move to Barcelona is really happening, but it’s not quite finalized just yet, that’s the verdict from Borussia Dortmund chief executive Hans-Joachim Watzke.

Yesterday mutiple reports claimed that Dembele to Barca was a done deal, and while it is certainly happening, as usual this summer, we’re not quite there yet.

Watzke was asked about Dembele and the reports on Friday morning at a press conference and gave an update on the current situation.

“The transfer is on the way... but not finalized yet. We'll announce it when it's finalized.

"Should it come to a transfer of Dembele, we would be weakened in a sporting sense. There are no two ways around it.

"In that case we may become active on the transfer market."
