Ernesto Valverde says he is hopeful Barcelona can further add to their squad before the close of the transfer window on August 31.
The club were given a huge boost on Friday after they announced the arrival of Ousmane Dembele from Borussia Dortmund.
Huge speculation continues to swirl around the club with potential moves for Philippe Coutinho and Angel Di Maria still being widely reported.
Speaking after Barca’s 2-0 win over Alaves on Saturday, Valverde says he hopes the club can bring in some more new players.
"We hope that when August 31 arrives and the transfer market closes we have a more competitive team," Valverde said.
"I will work with the players I have got, but we hope to have an even better team and we're open [to signings] if we have a chance, that's clear."

It’s difficult to see at his point just who might be arriving. The Coutinho rumours continue but Liverpool have, and remain, adamant he will not be sold, making a deal in this window look highly unlikely.
Likewise, it’s hard to see a move for Di Maria happening, particularly given the relationship between the two clubs after the Neymar deal.
Other speculation has focused on Willian and Lorenzo Insigne but it’s hard to see if there is any truth in those reports at all, or if it’s simply a case of silly season as the close of the window looms into view.
