Marca are reporting that Juventus and Barcelona have entered negotiations over midfielder André Gomes. Other reports reiterate that Juventus wish a loan deal for Gomes, while Barcelona want to to permanently sell the Portuguese midfielder.

Gomes only arrived at Barcelona last summer from Valencia. Unfortunately, he has failed to make the impact that Barcelona fans hoped he could make in his time thus far at the club.

His lackluster beginnings at Barcelona have led to different transfer rumors this summer, but nothing concrete has taken place yet. Marca reports that Barcelona want €45 million for Gomes, despite paying €35 million, plus a potential €20 million in add-ons, for him last summer.

It doesn’t make much sense that Gomes’ price wouldn’t drop more drastically, despite still being young, he failed to impress at Barcelona and the club is looking to offload him this summer. The summer of inflated transfer fees may have taken ahold of Gomes as well.
