Plan B may not be a bad idea

Sport is reporting that Barcelona have vastly upped their interest in Monaco’s Thomas Lemar.

Given the growing realization that Philippe Coutinho may not be coming to Barcelona, the wiser heads in the room seem to finally be moving the club’s interest in a different direction.

Lemar would cost Barcelona around 80 million euros, and thus far talks with Monaco and the player are described as being “positive”.

The Blaugrana view also seems to be that despite being just 21 and seen as a hot prospect, he’ll likely be much easier to get than Paulo Dybala or Coutinho. It also goes without saying that he will also be far cheaper than Dybala or Coutinho.

This shift in direction is a positive move for Barça. Getting a younger player to pair alongside Dembele would be a wise move in building for the future at Barcelona.

Lemar has already shown his ability to produce now, but what he could do in the future is just as enticing.
