Matt Law of the Telegraph is reporting that Tottenham Hotspur and West Ham United are battling it out for André Gomes. The report suggests that Spurs and the Hammers wish to grab Gomes on a season-long loan from Barcelona. Which is in direct opposition to reports that Barcelona only wished to permanently sell Gomes, and that a loan was off the table.

Both cannot be true, so perhaps Barcelona have come to realize that a loan was the only option out there for Gomes. In due time, perhaps Gomes will regain his spark from Valencia and be prepared to take on a bigger role at Barcelona after a year away from the squad.

The downside to loaning him out for a season is that his value drops even more, and Barcelona are stuck with an investment gone bad. The tough decision Barcelona have in front of them could perhaps be made a bit easier if indeed West Ham and Tottenham are trying to snatch the midfielder.
