Mahrez to join Chelsea for £45m
First up we go with news of Riyad Mahrez who appears to have gone AWOL having been given permission to leave Algeria training earlier today.
Their reporter even apparently claims the deal “will happen tonight” which, let’s face it, it will have to what with the transfer window in the UK closing and all.
Barca not interested in Mahrez
Barcelona certainly are not interested in Mahrez, despite all the earlier speculation, that’s according to Marca.
They report Mahrez was not even an option for Barcelona, that the club have no interest in the Leicester star, and that he will indeed go to Chelsea.
Barca were offered Mbappe but went for Dembele
Over at Esport 3 the rumor is that Barcelona were offered Kylian Mbappe earlier in the transfer window, but instead turned down the Monaco forward in favour of Ousmane Dembele.
Apparently Monaco offered Mbappe during the club’s pre-season tour of the United States as they did not want to sell to Paris Saint-Germain or Real Madrid.
However, Josep Maria Bartomeu, who was still trying to keep hold of Neymar, did not want to do anything to upset the Brazilian and was then informed by Pep Segura and Robert Fernández that Dembele was the preferred option.
Rafinha to stay at Barca...for now
Back with Marca, they also report that Rafinha is going absolutely nowhere in this transfer window.
There have been whispers he could leave, but the Brazilian is still struggling with injury which is believed to have put-off would-be suitors.
Rafinha will therefore wait it out to see how he fits into Ernesto Valverde’s plans, and if he doesn’t, may instead move on when the window reopens in January.
Tottenham to sign Andre Gomes on loan
Andre Gomes really is starting to look like he’s heading for the Barcelona exit door with the Mirror reporting he will join Spurs on a season-long loan.
The deal will also include an option to buy, should the Portugal international impress Mauricio Pochettino during his time in north London.
Munir to Marseille?
And finally, we are back to Munir who has been heavily linked with a move to Serie A side Torino, but could in fact be on his way to France with Marseille.
According to beIN SPORTS the club’s sporting director Andoni Zubizarreta is in contact with his former club about a possible deal for the forward.
