Looks like the last attempt at another big name came up short

Barcelona have failed in their pursuit of PSG’s Ángel Di Maria. Sport are reporting that PSG rejected Barcelona’s last offer for the Argentine.

Just hours ago, Barcelona were making a last ditch effort to sign Di Maria. Ultimately, they weren’t able to come to a deal.

The final offer was in the range of €40-45 million. PSG consistently asked for closer to €60 million lately, and it appears that their valuation of Di Maria was too high for Barcelona’s liking.

“Barcelona unable/unwilling to pay what PSG asking for di Maria. So, right now, FCB saying they won't add to the squad as market gone ‘crazy’”

Guillem Balague‏

Per Guillem Balague, Barcelona described the transfer market as “crazy” and that they didn’t want to pay more for Di Maria.

Kind of funny for Barcelona to stop wanting to overpay for players now, but hey, the transfer market is almost over. Let’s get back to the football.

What does everyone else think? Is giving up on Di Maria wise?
