Josep Maria Bartomeu has been talking about Barcelona boss Ernesto Valverde and says he has a contract at the club for this season and next.
Valverde was reported to have signed a two-year deal with an option for a third when he joined Barcelona in summer 2017.
However, according to Bartomeu, Valverde’s contract runs until 2020, although it can be broken before then by either party.
“I want to clarify this. I talked about it not many weeks ago. He has a contract for this season and for the next. There is a clause that the club or he can break the contract by paying a penalty. We have a contract until the 19/20 season. No doubt.
“We are happy with Ernesto Valverde. There is a good team and good players and we are very happy. He is an intelligent coach and he is very clear about the concept and the model of the game.”

Valverde has been quizzed about his future recently but has given little away. Speaking ahead of Saturday’s win over Sevilla he said his “future at Barca does not matter to me, I do not care.”
