Ajax midfielder Frenkie de Jong says he learns about football from watching videos of Xavi and Andres Iniesta.

The Netherlands international has been heavily linked with a move to Barcelona, and his latest comments may just fuel more speculation.

“I often look at videos on YouTube to learn from Xavi and Iniesta.” he said.. “I enjoy and love watching what he [Messi] does, but I don’t try and copy him because that’s impossible.

“I’ve watched lots of Barcelona matches when Messi, Xavi and Iniesta played. Maybe, subconsciously, I’ve tried to learn and adapt parts of their game to mine.”

Ajax sporting director Marc Overmars has made it pretty clear the club have no interest in selling either De Jong or Matthijs de Ligt in January.

However, he has said the club may lose some of their best players at the end of the season.
