David Villa is set to play alongside Andres Iniesta once again, with the striker set to join Japanese side Vissel Kobe.
Iniesta made the move to Asia in May and Villa will now follow in his footsteps after announcing his decision to leave MLS side New York City FC when his contract expires at the end of December.

Villa has spoken about the move already and says he talked with Iniesta before making his decision.
“When I got the offer from Vissel I called Iniesta and my wife called Andres’ wife.
“The city of Kobe, the wonderful times with family, hearing about the club’s togetherness and their project – I got a good impression of the club from Andres.
“He was my team-mate as well as my friend for many years. It’s great that I can challenge myself in a new project with him.”

Villa had a great time playing with Iniesta at Barcelona. He won the league twice, the Copa del Rey and the Champions League.
The duo were also part of a brilliant Spain side which won Euro 2008 and the World Cup in South Africa.
