Barcelona considering January move for Rugani
Today’s rumors start with Juventus defender Daniele Rugani who has emerged as a January target for Barcelona, according to Sport.
The 24-year-old is not playing regularly for the Italian champions and is said to be “open” to a winter move.
Barcelona are keen for a loan deal with an option to buy for Rugani.
He’s seen as a similar option to Chelsea’s Andreas Christensen but may be easier to land, as the Blues are refusing to negotiate a loan deal for the Dane.
Skrtel and Ivanovic are also targets
Rugani is the not the only defender Barcelona are eyeing up at the moment.
According to RAC1, former Liverpool centre-back Martin Skrtel is on the list as well as ex-Chelsea star Branislav Ivanovic.
Barcelona are said to be keen to bring in an experienced right-footer, who will not take up a non-EU spot in the squad.
Barcelona rule out Pepe move
One player who will not be making the switch to the Camp Nou is Pepe. The former Real Madrid has just left Besiktas after agreeing to have his contract terminated.
However, Barcelona are not keen on the 35-year-old due to his long history with Real Madrid and his pretty poor disciplinary record, according to Sport.
Real Madrid join De Ligt race
And finally today we end with news that Real Madrid have decided they quite fancy the look of Matthijs de Ligt too.
The Dutch star remains Barcelona’s long-term priority in defence and is their top priority for next summer.
However, Real Madrid will now scrap it out with Barcelona and Juventus for his signature and are said to be ready to “battle” for the defender.
