Gremio midfielder Arthur has said he’s nervous as he reportedly closes in on a move to Barcelona.

Barcelona have seemingly been chasing the 21-year-old for some time now. Reports have claimed they have agreement with the player but need to agree a fee with Gremio.

Arthur has a release clause of €50 million but it is expected that Barcelona could land him for far less than that, with a fee of €30m having been mentioned.

The midfielder has now been speaking about his future and given an update on the current situation.

“My agents are closing the signing. Of course I’m nervous, it’s a normal thing,” he said. “It is a very important moment, but there is nothing better than being with the family at this time.

”I am sure they will solve for the best, that is the most important thing. I speak daily with my representative, with the Gremio lawyer and with the CEO about this situation. The result of the negotiation has not yet happened.”

This is a transfer that has seemingly been in progress for many months now, but let’s hope Barcelona can get it wrapped up soon, although it’s expected that Arthur will not arrive at the club until January 2019.
