But for the long-term success of the club perhaps the more interesting event took place after the match. Star French striker Griezmann decided to disclose that he and his representatives were speaking to Atletico Madrid about Griezmann’s future at the club.

The speculation has long been that Griezmann will potentially leave the club for Barcelona or perhaps the Premier League.
