Barcelona are eager to move for another defender following Yerry Mina’s nightmare against Levante and injury-plagued performances from Thomas Vermaelen. Samuel Umtiti and Gerard Pique are Barcelona’s glue for the foreseeable future, but they need some more depth on the defensive side of things.
Sevilla’s Clément Lenglet may be the man for the job. He has a release clause of 30 million euros and could be a solid addition to the Barcelona defense. His agent recently spoke about the defender and his situation.
“There are clubs chasing Lenglet, but first of all he wants to finish the season well.
”He likes the club and the city of Seville. If he decides to leave, it will be a difficult decision for him. I can’t say what clubs are interested, but there is interest in Spain and there have been questions from other countries, too.”

The report reckons Barca have stepped up their interest in Lenglet recently, and he’s gradually coming around to the idea and believes he can fight for a first-team place.
