Andres Iniesta has left Barcelona and after weeks and months of speculation he has finally confirmed where he’s heading.
The midfielder has uploaded a picture of himself on the way to Japan with Rakuten CEO Hiroshi Mikitani, who also happens to own Japanese side Vissel Kobe.
The picture is captioned: “Heading to my new home, with my friend Hiroshi Mikitani” followed by a Japan emoji, a football and an aeroplane.
So there we have it Iniesta is on his way to Japan where he will be starting a new life in the J-League once the World Cup is over.
Iniesta won’t be the first Barcelona player to feature in the Japanese league. Julio Salinas played for Yokohama F Marinos and Txiki Begiristain spent a couple of seasons with Urawa Red Diamonds.
Let’s wish Don Andres all the best for the future and his new life in Japan!
