Real Betis boss Quique Setien reckons he’d quite like to have Barcelona midfielder Denis Suarez at the club next season.

Denis didn’t get too many chances to impress last season and has regularly been linked with a move away from the Camp Nou.

Setien’s comments will probably only help fuel more speculation about his future.

“I would like to have Denis Suarez at Betis,” he said.

“Lorenzo Serra Ferra knows what my preferences are and which players I am a fan of, but we are talking about players on good money, on stable contracts.

“We hope we can be in a position to compete for these players, but it is very difficult for various factors, to get these signings right.

“Ceballos? There are many things to consider with Dani too, it could not be easy but his talent is obvious and that would be my desire.

“Betis do not have a big bag of money like other clubs but we will try to get our signings right.”

Denis has always insisted he’s determined to prove himself at Barcelona whenever he’s asked about his future and doesn’t really seem interested in a move.

However, Setien’s been doing a pretty brilliant job at Betis, and if they could offer Denis regular football it would be interesting to see if he was tempted.
