Sergio Busquets close to agreeing new Barcelona deal, according to his agent

Sergio Busquets is close to agreeing a new deal with Barcelona which could be signed, sealed and delivered soon, according to his agent Josep Maria Orobitg.

The midfielder apparently wanted an improved deal to reflect his standing at the club, and Barcelona have responded with renewed terms which could be signed soon.

Orobitg told Mundo Deportivo “I think we will reach an agreement soon” when asked about Busquets’ contract situation.

Barcelona have been busy tying up their key players over the last year or so. Lionel Messi, Gerard Pique and Samuel Umtiti have all signed on with Busquets possibly next.

The club may then want to turn their attentions to Jordi Alba as his agent has hit out at the time it is taking to offer the left-back a renewal.
