Bayern Munich CEO Karl-Heinz Rummenigge has been talking about the club’s summer transfer plans and had some pretty interesting comments about Thiago Alcantara.

The midfielder has been linked with a return to Barcelona recently and Rummenigge suggested he could be surplus to requirements at the Allianz Arena.

“No club has contacted us, nor Thiago. We still plan with him. However, I must say the midfield is stacked.

“We have 3 or 4 places for 9 players. The squad is great, but if we sell players, I don’t rule out that we will do something in the market”

It sounds as though Bayern would probably be willing to let Thiago leave if they received an acceptable offer, but it remains to be seen if Barcelona are interested him having him back.
