Barcelona don’t want to get rid of me, says Cillessen

Jasper Cillessen discussed his future and playing for Barcelona this week. Liverpool and other clubs have expressed interest in the goalie and should he wish to have more playing time the potential for a move is realistic.

“I’m waiting quietly, the only thing I know is that Barcelona does not want to get rid of me, Arsenal and Liverpool are indeed not small clubs, but if Barcelona says ‘we’ll keep you, then I’ll accept that and I will continue. I look forward to July 16, which is the day I have to go back to work with Barcelona.”

Cillessen has certainly proved himself in gametime at Barcelona, but playing behind Ter-Stegen has left him without much time on the pitch. A move could be good for his career, but he loves playing at Barcelona. The next few weeks should be interesting.
