Barcelona confirmed on Thursday they have signed Clement Lenglet from Sevilla after paying the defender’s release clause of €35.9 million.

The centre-back will sign a five-year deal with Ernesto Valverde’s side and becomes the club’s second signing of the summer after Arthur.

Lenglet will officially be presented as a Barcelona player on Friday and will sign his contract at the Camp Nou.

The Frenchman will strengthen Barcelona’s defence and adds to Ernesto Valverde’s options along with Gerard Pique, Samuel Umtiti, Thomas Vermaelen and Yerry Mina.
