Barcelona’s summer signing Arthur has been talking about his new club and where he envisages playing in the team under Ernesto Valverde.
The Brazilian has joined the team for pre-season training since arriving from Gremio and explained where he thinks he will fit in.
“I can play as the pivot or as the second pivote. Any position in central midfield is good for me. It isn’t really a problem if I’m a little further forward or playing more defensively,” he said
“Yes, one option is to play next to Busquets. I’ll adjust to all the positions they tell me to.
“I enjoy how Barcelona play with the ball at their feet. At times the team needs you to control the play, other times to speed up the tempo, but the idea is to dominate and control the match.”

Arthur is not expected to go straight into the team as he’ll need time to adjust, but hopefully he will get plenty of game time next season.
We should be able to get a first proper glimpse of him in action later this month when Barcelona continue their pre-season preparations with friendly games against Spurs, Roma and AC Milan at the Interntional Champions Cup in the United States.
