Marc Overmars has warned Barcelona off a move for midfielder Frenkie de Jong by insisting the Ajax starlet is simply not for sale this summer.
Barcelona are reportedly seriously interested in signing the 21-year-old but Overmars, the club’s director of football, says none of his clubs youngsters are going anywhere.
“Frenkie de Jong, Donny van de Beek and Matthijs de Ligt are not for sale as far as we are concerned.
“No, not even for absurd amounts. Let them play 40 matches for Ajax this season.”

Overmars was also asked specifically about De Jong moving to Barcelona now that Daley Blind has arrived from Manchester United and was adamant he’s not going anywhere.
“Not for sale. And that is what I have communicated to all parties.”
He also went on to suggest that it might be possible to negotiate a deal after this season, but for now at least it sounds as though De Jong is staying put.
