Barcelona confirmed on Friday they have agreed to loan young full-back Marc Cucurella to Eibar for the rest of the season.
The deal also includes the option for Eibar to sign the 20-year-old permanently, although there are no details about the possible fee.
ÚLTIMA HORA - Acord amb la @SDEibar per a la cessió de Cucurella fins a final de temporada. L’equip basc es fa càrrec de la fitxa del jugador i es guarda una opció de compra. Molta sort @cucurella3! Cucurella is a highly-rated prospect but he seems to have fallen behind Juan Miranda in the pecking order at the Camp Nou.
Both players were part of the club’s pre-season tour of the United States, but Miranda has since been training with the first team in the first few weeks of the season.
Cucurella will now be hoping he can make an impact at José Luis Mendilibar’s side. Eibar finished ninth last season but have started this campaign with defeats to Huesca and Getafe.
