Thursday is deadline day for Premier League clubs with their summer transfer window set to slam shut at 5pm local time.
And it could be a busy old day for Barcelona with a number of players being linked with moves to the English top flight.
Here’s a quick update:
Barcelona really need to shift a defender or two and Marlon is a name near the top of the list particularly because he will also command a non-EU spot.
He spent last season on loan at Nice, but this time around could find himself heading to England.
Reports on Wednesday suggested he could join Newcastle United on a season-long loan, and it’s a deal that will probably suit both clubs.
Mina is in a similar situation to Marlon although there appears to be a bit more interest in the Colombian after his performances at the World Cup.
Manchester United and Everton are being touted as potential destinations. French side Lyon will be watching developments closely in case a move fails to materialise.
There have been some big sums mentioned in regards to Mina’s departure, and Barcelona could be set to make a massive profit on a player they signed for €11.5m in January.
Andre Gomes is once again attracting headlines on deadline day, and the rumor is that he could be joining Lucas Digne at Everton.
Apparently the club want to bring him in on loan, although Barcelona would surely prefer a permanent deal.
The midfielder looks to have little chance of game time this season, and he will surely hope he can secure a move away.
The final player who is being linked with a summer exit to England is Paco Alcacer. The rumors have quietened recently but Watford remain linked.
Sport have claimed Ernesto Valverde’s side are negotiating with the Hornets, although there’s a sense Alcacer is not too keen on a move.
Of the four deals being mooted this one looks the least likely, but if it doesn’t you have to wonder how much game time Paco will see next season.
