Barcelona are reportedly targeting Lucas Paqueta from Flamengo. The midfielder is only 21-years-old and has been a player of notice this year after progressing rapidly over the last 12 months.
Paqueta has played a decent part in Brazil’s national team this year. He even made it into the 30-man squad for the World Cup, but was left out when it was cut to 23.
Flamengo vice-president Ricardo Lomba has said his club are keen to try and keep hold of their starlet.
“Now he’s gone with the national team, it’s clear he’s climbed up a step,” he said.
“We want him to stay and will do everything we can to keep him at the club where he’s developed as a player.”

His current contract runs until December 2020 and his release clause is currently 50 million euros. If a new deal takes place, the release clause would increase even more, making his exit more difficult.
