Saul Niguez reportedly a target for Barcelona

The midfielder shone for Spain in the international break

England v Spain - UEFA Nations League A

The Spain tabloids are reporting that Barcelona have been considering making a move for Atletico Madrid midfielder Saul Niguez.

The midfielder has impressed for Atletico in years past, but has most recently been stirring things up with amazing play for the Spanish national team in the last month.

There are multiple problems to the potential move, but the main one is the giant release clause that is attached to Saul. His current contract has a release clause of 134 million euros set.

The cost alone sets this deal up to be something that’s only discussed in everyone’s dreams without even venturing into the arena of weighing whether or not Saul is worth that much money.

The deal is likely just something being spun up during a slower international break, but nevertheless it remains interesting while Barcelona continue to hunt for a midfield star.
