Barcelona are reportedly checking out Genoa’s Krzyisztof Piatek as a future striker. The Serie A player has scored seven goals in the league already this season. He’s 23 years old and just recently moved from KS Crackovia to the Italian top flight.

The reports suggest that in footballing circles, Piatek is being referred to as the next Robert Lewandowski. The Polish player has drawn comparisons due to his nationality obviously, but also his poaching ability in front of goal.

Piatek could be a great long-term replacement for Luis Suarez. But surely Barcelona will wait and see how much more polished the player will get before attempting to make a move.

This isn’t the first time Barcelona have been enamored with a young striker Timo Werner was the player last year the club were constantly being linked with.
