Another day, another striker linked

Barcelona are reportedly keeping a close eye on Alvaro Morata this January. Despite most thinking they’re going to wait for summer to sign a striker, they seem to be kicking the tires on what an Alvaro Morata transfer or loan would look like.

Morata has been in a sticky situation since arriving in London to play for Chelsea. He’s underperformed and been stuck in a rut for some time. Chelsea have been reportedly looking to loan or sell Morata out given the lackluster performances from the Spaniard.

Coming to Barcelona and playing under Luis Suarez would likely mean a bloom for Morata. He thrived at Juventus while playing behind Gonzalo Higuain. Barcelona won’t be in any rush to sign someone this January though. Given the focus on defenders and midfield, the forward position will likely be taken care of this summer.
