El Mundo Deportivo is reporting that Frenkie de Jong has officially chosen PSG over Barcelona in his transfer decision. Part of the report specifies that De Jong broke an agreement that he and Barcelona had previously.

There had been rumors that Barcelona were feeling less sure of a deal after PSG entered the field in the last couple weeks. PSG joined Barcelona and Manchester City as favorites to sign the youngster from Ajax. RAC1 reckon Barca are almost resigned to losing De Jong to PSG.

The midfielder is reportedly going to be sold in the range of €75m. De Jong has been the centerpiece of Ajax and the Dutch national team for some time. His consistency and proven ability at such a young age turned the heads of large teams around the world.

If Barcelona have indeed missed out on De Jong, the loss is a pretty devastating one. De Jong is a perfect young piece for Barcelona to build with, they’ll have to make a last ditch effort at making the move it seems.
