Carlos Vela remains pretty keen on the idea of joining Barcelona on loan so that he can play with captain Lionel Messi.

The Mexican revealed back in August that he agreed to join Barcelona last January, only to see the Catalan giants swoop for Kevin-Prince Boateng instead.

Vela has now been asked if he’d still be interested in heading to the Camp Nou and says he would not be able to turn down the chance of playing alongside the GOAT.

“Who could say no to playing with Messi for four months and then coming back to LA?” he said.

“Enjoy, learn and then come back home.”

The 30-year-old has enjoyed a great goalscoring season with LAFC, netting 34 goals to help the club reach the playoffs.
