Marc-Andre ter Stegen’s continued run of excellent games this season has kept him in the spotlight at Barcelona. His national team performances and growing stature hasn’t hurt his case either. Barcelona now want to lock ter Stegen down, sooner rather than later, according to Marca.

The German star’s contract runs till 2022, after being renewed most recently in 2017. His journey from sharing time with Claudio Bravo, to moving into the full-time goal keeping role, to becoming one of the world’s best has been fun to watch. They rewarded him becoming a starter with contract extension last time, now he deserves that world-class money.

The club want to reward the journey he’s taken. Hopefully they can get a deal done before Bayern Munich decide they want to bring him home or PSG get bored of not spending money.
