Riqui Puig should leave Barcelona on loan, says Patrick Kluivert

A move would be the best thing, apparently

Barcelona director of youth football Patrickl Kluivert reckons that Riqui Puig should leave Barcelona and go out on loan.

The young midfielder has starred for Barcelona B this term and is widely regarded as one of the club’s most promising young stars.

However, instead of promoting Puig to the first team, Kluivert reckons the best thing would be for him to go and play somewhere else for a different team.

“If you see the first team midfielders, Frenkie, Arturo, and so on. Where are you going to put Riqui? With all due respect. It’s hard. It is better for Riqui to go on loan to compete at a different level and to return.”

Puig’s future is likely to be the subject of much speculation in the run-up to the opening of the January transfer window. He has spoken before about how he doesn’t really want to go out on loan, while a first-team spot may open up if Ivan Rakitic or Carles Alena leave.
