France Football have an interesting report about Lionel Messi and Neymar and how the Barcelona captain urged the Brazilian to return to help him win the Champions League.

The magazine reports that Messi had a WhatsApp chat with his former team-mate after Barca had been knocked out of the Champions League by Liverpool.

Messi reportedly told Neymar: “Only together can we win the Champions League” and then added “I want you to come back. In two years, I’m leaving, and you’ll be alone, you’ll take my place.”

Neymar made it pretty clear over the summer he wanted to leave PSG and return to Barca, but the two clubs couldn’t strike a deal and he has remained in the French capital.

Of course that hasn’t stopped speculation that Neymar will still come back to Barcelona at some point in the future.

Recent reports have suggested PSG will cash in on Neymar and instead try to build the team around Kylian Mbappe.

Meanwhile, sporting director Eric Abidal has said recently Neymar “will always be an option” for Barca when asked about the possibility of him coming back.
