Willian reckons that Chelsea turned down an offer from Barcelona for him after the 2018 World Cup in Russia.

The Brazilian has been regularly linked with a move to the Camp Nou over the last couple of seasons and says the Catalan giants did make an approach to Chelsea.

“The only real official offer I had came from Barcelona, last year, after the World Cup,” he said.

“Barcelona indeed presented an offer to Chelsea but it was rejected.

“That was the only actual time I had to discuss something like this with my family, although we really love it here (London). So there were several factors that helped us in staying.”

Willian’s current Chelsea deal expires next summer and it’s not yet clear if the 31-year-old will remain at Stamford Bridge. He also spoke about the possibility of returning to Brazil and says if did head home he’d like to play for former club Corinthians again.
