Valverde didn’t want De Jong at Barcelona

Today’s rumors start with news from the Netherlands and a report from De Telegraaf that reckons Frenkie de Jong was signed for Barcelona ‘against the will’ of Ernesto Valverde.

The word is that Valverde was not too keen on the Dutchman, but the midfielder had his heart set on a move to the Catalan giants which helped seal the deal.

PSG manager Thomas Tuchel and Man City boss Pep Guardiola tried their best to lure De Jong to their clubs, while Valverde did not talk to De Jong until “much later.”

There’s also a suggestion that De Jong would rather be playing as a No. 6 as that would bring out the best in him at Barcelona.

Barca want €25m for Todio

Over at Mundo Deportivo the word is that Barcelona are demanding a fee in the region of €25m for defender Jean-Clair Todibo.

AC Milan are interested in the defender and are keen to bring in some quality in the January transfer window in a bid to rise up the Serie A table.

Meanwhile, Sport are reporting that Manchester United are keen on the young Frenchman and have joined Bayer Leverkusen, Southampton and Everton in the race for his signature.
