Barcelona striker Luis Suarez says the best thing for the club is to bring in a new forward to take over from him as the club’s next No. 9.
The Spanish champions have been linked with several attacking options this season, with Inter Milan’s Lautaro Martinez the name that crops up most frequently.
Suarez will celebrate his 33rd birthday in January and knows that Barca will need to sign his replacement sooner or later.
“If they bring a new team-mate to compete it will be the same pressure that I will have playing every three days.
“And I have to be thinking about the future of the club, as a fan of the club, I have to think about the future.
”And maybe the best thing is if they sign a young or an established player to carry the torch as Barcelona’s number 9.”
