The right-back is co-owned by Barcelona and Betis after the two clubs struck a deal to bring the defender to Spain from Atletico Mineiro for €12 million in January.
Emerson has become a regular for the Andalusians, but Barca do have an option to bring him to the Camp Nou for €6m in 2021.
The 20-year-old has given a big interview to Mundo Deportivo where he’s talked about his future and is hopeful he will end up at the Camp Nou soon.
”In my head I’m clear that I will go to Barcelona and that I will play to win the Champions League,” he said.
”Barcelona talk a lot with my agent and say that I’m doing well, to keep working, so soon I might go to Barcelona.
“Yes, there is a clause [for him to leave before 2021] but if I go to Barcelona, Barça must pay a fine, which I don’t know how much it is.
“It’s a dream to play with Messi, the best in the world. It is amazing and more if you see it up close. I want to tell my son that I played with Messi.”
