Barcelona president Josep Maria Bartomeu has been talking about manager Ernesto Valverde’s future at the club and is not sure if he will be in charge next season.
Valverde extended his current deal in February and it runs until the end of the current campaign with the option of one more.
There has been plenty of talk already this season about Valverde being replaced, and Bartomeu offered his thoughts on the subject.
“Will Valverde continue next season? He has a contract until 2021, but in spring there is an option through which it could be decided that he doesn’t continue.
“We have it with all the trainers. But his contract… either he or we will decide. What follows depends on many variables. Rijkaard was here five years, Guardiola four, Luis Enrique three.
“[Three years] could be [enough]. But it is a decision that he or the club must make as things go on.”

Ronald Koeman’s name keeps cropping up as potential Valverde replacement, and he does have a clause in his Netherlands contract allowing him to leave for Barca, while River Plate’s Marcelo Gallardo has also been rumored.
