Barcelona are definitely interested in Eintracht Frankfurt’s Luka Jovic but speculation a deal has been agreed is wide of the mark, according to Sport.

Reports in Germany have suggested the striker had already agreed a deal in principle with the Spanish champions but that’s wide of the mark, although Barcelona have been interested in the striker for some time.

The more likely possibility is that Barcelona are already in contact with representatives on both sides about a move.

The club has been circling the age of Luis Suarez for a while and wanted to add a young striker to bolster the bench as well as plan for the future.

Jovic is 21-years-old and on loan from Benfica. He’s been a consistent goalscorer since arriving at Frankfurt in 2017, including scoring five goals in a Bundesliga match in October.
