Ivan Rakitic’s future has been the subject of plenty of headlines recently, but Barcelona are reportedly not planning on renewing his contract.

According to Sport, they will not offer him a new contract in the current financial year, and his departure would not be seen as “traumatic.”

In fact there’s a suggestion Barcelona would be fairly happy if he did leave were they to receive an offer of €65 million.

There’s plenty of clubs interested too, according to the report, which states that Chelsea, Manchester United, Juventus, Inter Milan and Bayern Munich have all asked about the midfielder.

Rakitic has made it pretty clear that he has no intention of leaving the Camp Nou. He’s said recently he’s very happy at the club and wants to renew.

Meanwhile, his agent, Arturo Canales, has said Rakitic leaving in the summer is an “impossible scenario.”

Josep Maria Bartomeu has explained recently the club don’t have the finances available to renew Rakitic at the moment, and the arrival of Arthur, Arturo Vidal and Frenkie de Jong surely means a midfielder or two will be departing in the summer.
