Barcelona back in for Antoine Griezmann

Today’s rumors start with the rather tedious news that Barcelona have apparently revived their interest in Antoine Griezmann.

French newspaper L’Equipe is reporting that Barca have made another approach for Griezmann, who turned them down last summer, and who is said to be disillusioned at Atletico after their Champions League exit.

The World Cup winner has a release clause of €200 million, but apparently that will drop to €120 million in June 2019.

Barca considering four No. 9 options

Over at Sport the word is that Barcelona are considering four players to come in and boost their attacking options.

Maxi Gomez, Andre Silva, Luka Jovic and Nicolas Pepe are all under consideration, although Barcelona must sell before they can buy.

Gomez would be the cheapest forward to bring in but is no longer the favourite. Jovic is described as a “serious option” and Pepe also appears to be in the running.

Juventus to meet with Ajax over De Ligt

Barcelona have long been linked with a move for Matthijs de Ligt but could miss out on the Ajax defender, as Juventus are set to meet with the Dutch club and try to discuss a move.

The two clubs have been drawn together in the quarter-finals of the Champions League, and Juventus plan to try and tempt the club into selling the defender at the same time, according to reports from Italy.

Beckham wants Messi in Miami

David Beckham has been talking up the possibility of trying to bring Lionel Messi to his Inter Miami club before he hangs up his boots.

“Everyone has their wish list - everyone does! But if you look at the way Leo and Cristiano are still playing, even at what you might think is the later stage of their careers, I don’t see it ending for them,” he said, according to AS.

”They’re playing at such a high level that it’s hard to see them leaving the clubs they are at. But we will see. You never know what can happen in football.”
