Month of key fixtures could settle Philippe Coutinho’s Barcelona future

Time for the Brazilian to shine

Barcelona are going to have to make a choice in the next few months. Their most expensive transfer isn’t performing up to his €120m price tag and executives are worried about their return on investment.

If your most expensive player isn’t even in the starting eleven, there’s a problem. Sport report that they’ll be re-evaluating Coutinho’s place in their future after the Champions League quarter-finals.

The fact that they’re even close to being in a place where Coutinho’s future at Barcelona is in jeopardy is pretty wild. There were warning signs that a Coutinho transfer to Barcelona wouldn’t be perfect marriage before it even happened.

Now that things are in a place where stories are being leaked that their relationship is fraying and potentially being re-evaluated, its safe to say unless Coutinho has an amazing month, there will be plenty more stories about destinations for the Brazilian back in England.
