Eibar coach Jose Luis Mendilibar says he expects Marc Cucurella to stay at the club when his loan expires in the summer.

The 20-year-old joined on a temporary contract last summer, but the deal includes an option to make it permanent.

Mendilibar says he will stay at the club but isn’t so sure about Marc Cardona, who is also on loan from Barcelona but has only managed two La Liga starts.

“There are still 10 games left, but with ‘Cucu’ it is clear. He is playing in a position he had never played before and see how he is playing. He is doing very well. It is clear that he will stay.

“Marc has 10 games, it is true that I have not given much time and it is not easy to show what you have. The signing of the two was my idea, I was the one who commented to the sports management they could come because I had seen them in some games.”

Cucurella has enjoyed a good season with Eibar, playing regularly in a more advanced position, and looks like he has a tough decision to make over his future at the end of the season.
