Barcelona have reportedly figured out who they want to start at centre-back for next season. This has been a topic of conversation for Barcelona for some time now. Given injuries and a lack of depth Barcelona have been stuck in between youth and aging stars.

Barcelona want Gerard Pique, Clement Lenglet, Samuel Umtiti, and Matthijs de Ligt as their four centre backs, according to Sport. The club sees this as the perfect balance between short term and long term planning for their club. Pique is the perfect leader to continue Barcelona’s success while allowing guys like Umtiti, Lenglet and De Ligt to grow.

There are a few defenders that are going to have to leave in order to make room for these four to become primaries. The report reckons Thomas Vermaelen, Jean-Clair Todibo, and Jeison Murillo will be the ones to make their way out.
