Barcelona have reportedly decided to sell Philippe Coutinho after his disastrous showing in their Champions League exit at the hands of his former club Liverpool.

According to ESPN the club are disappointed with the Brazilian and his anonymous performance against Liverpool may have sealed his fate.

The report cites a source as saying: “Coutinho is not a Barcelona player, that’s been made clear.”

Barcelona spent a lot of time and money bringing Coutinho to the Camp Nou in January 2018 for a fee of a €160 million, but he has simply not provided value for money.

The Brazil international had a solid if unspectacular start to his Barcelona career in the second half of last season but has struggled to make much of an impression in the current campaign.

He has been afforded plenty of game time too in recent weeks with Ousmane Dembele out injured, but it is possible that his days at the club are now numbered.
