Frenkie de Jong can’t wait to play with Arthur at Barcelona

Frenkie de Jong says he can’t wait to play with Arthur at Barcelona ahead of his summer move to the Camp Nou.

The 22-year-old will officially become a Barcelona player on July 1 after agreeing a five-year deal back in January.

De Jong was asked about his forthcoming move and Brazilian midfielder Arthur after the Netherlands’ Nations League defeat to Portugal on Sunday.

“He is a fantastic player and I can not wait to play with him,” he said.

“He has a lot of confidence with the ball, his technique is really good and it’s very difficult to take the ball away from him. Of course we can play together, why not?”

There has already been plenty of talk about just where Frenkie de Jong will fit in next season and how Ernesto Valverde will set up his midfield with the Dutch star joining the likes of Sergio Busquets, Ivan Rakitic, Arthur and Arturo Vidal at the club.
