Raiola in Paris to discuss De Ligt
Today’s rumors start with the latest news about Ajax defender Matthijs de Ligt who is closing in on a move to Paris Saint-Germain, according to Gianluca Di Marzio.
The teenager’s agent, Mino Raiola, is in Paris to meet with Antero Henrique and close a deal to the French champions.
Guardian and Sky Sport journalist Fabrizio Romano also has an update on the situation. He says De Ligt has been offered a five-year deal by PSG, and they are now pushing for a decision on his future.
De Ligt wants to know if other clubs, specifically Barcelona, are going to increase their offer before making a final decision.
Ernesto Valverde wants Mikel Oyarzabal
The 22-year-old impressed Valverde last season but bringing him to the Camp Nou may be difficult.
Oyarzabal has a release clause of €70 million and it seems likely that he will stay at Sociedad for another season.
Barcelona interested in Joao Pedro
Sport also bring news that Barcelona quite like the look of Fluminense’s 17-year-old Brazilian starlet Joao Pedro.
The youngster is being tipped to have a big future after scoring nine goals in 15 games, including a hat-trick against Atletico Nacional in the Copa Sudamericana.
He followed that up with a spectacular overhead kick in the Copa do Brasil that also set pulses racing.
The only problem is that Fluminense agreed to sell Joao Pedro to Premier League side Watford €2.5m before he’d even made his first-team debut, although there’s a suggestion that may not stop a deal being done.
Juventus keen on Nelson Semedo
Moving on and Italian champions Juventus are reportedly keen on landing Barcelona right-back Nelson Semedo, so say Tuttosport.
The Serie A side could be in need of a replacement for Joao Cancelo, who has been linked with a move to Manchester City, and Semedo seems to fit the bill.
The Portugal international wants out of the Camp Nou to play regular football and has also attracted interest from Atletico Madrid.
Griezmann only wants Barca
And finally today we end up with yet another update on Antoine Griezmann. According to Mundo Deportivo, the Frenchman only wants Barcelona and is not interested in any other clubs.
Griezmann regrets not joining the club last summer and wants to play for a top club that plays attacking football.
His recent comments about making sacrifices referred to having to accept the same deal that was on offer last summer, having to win over the Barca fans and having less freedom in attack than he did under Diego Simeone at Atletico Madrid.
