Matthijs de Ligt’s agent, Mino Raiola, has branded rumors he was in France to close a deal with Paris Saint-Germain for the Ajax defender as “fake news.”

Lassana Camara, a Mauritanian journalist, tweeted a picture of himself with Raiola accompanied by text that said: “Mino Raiola is in Paris to finalize the transfer of the young defender from Ajax, De Ligt, to PSG.”
However, Raiola is not having any of it. Here’s what he has had to say:
“This is the classic example of fake news,” he said.
“The photograph of me and the French journalist in Paris? He asked me to take a picture together, but I did not know who this gentleman was. ‘I have never spoken with him.”
